Monsignor Andrew Meister Scholarship Opportunity

Due: February 1, 2018

Monsignor Andrew Meister Freshman Scholarship for Nebraska Catholic High School Students – $2500

 

Monsignor Andrew Meister of rural Monterey in Cuming County, was the oldest uncle of five Beta Tau Chapter Delts. Nicholas A. Emanuel ’76, Francis J. Emanuel ’78, James M. Emanuel ’79, Alan G. Emanuel ’85, and David R. Meister ’90.  This scholarship honors Fr. Andy’s many years of appreciated priestly service to our family, and to the Archdiocese of Omaha.

 

The mission and values of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity align well with those learned in Catholic High Schools.  This scholarship is available to any incoming Freshman who will graduate from one of our Nebraska Catholic High Schools; and intends to attend either the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or the University of Nebraska-Kearney.  The scholarship will be $2500 and will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee, which excludes the donors.

 

Candidates should complete the following to be considered for this scholarship by Feb 1, 2018:

  • Attach their high school resume, including activity involvement.
  • Attach a copy of their official high school transcript.
  • Write a short essay; Answer the following questions 500 words or fewer.  Please email all documents to nedtdscholarship@gmail.com.

(Essay Prompt)“This scholarship honors a student with excellent academic performance, demonstrated leadership, and a commitment of community service.  Describe your intentions in each of these areas while at The University of Nebraska.  At this point, what are your long-term career plans and interests? How will you get there?”
